Understanding and Treating Individuals with Psychosis

About the Presentation:  This presentation will briefly discuss psychosis, including the various etiologies and symptoms. Discuss how to collaboratively explore psychosis with clients. Learn several CBT and ACT skills to incorporate. Reflect on the rewards and challenges in outpatient settings.

About the Speaker: Dr. Mimi Arnold has a longstanding interest in understanding, assessing, and treating individuals with psychosis. She is passionate about early detection of subtle symptoms, exploring with clients in a collaborative way, and providing symptom specific treatment alongside traditional therapy.

Who will get the most from this training? Psychologists who want to learn more about recognizing, assessing, and treating individuals with psychosis.

What are 3-4 actionable lessons that attendees will take away from your presentation?

1) Learn about specific assessments that may be incorporated when psychosis is suspected.
2) Have a framework for CBT and ACT interventions.

What new skills or knowledge will attendees be able to apply to their clinical work/practice after your training? My hope is that attendees will be more comfortable working with clients with psychosis.
