When Parents Change, Children Improve: A SPACE-Based Approach to Anxiety
About the presentation:
This training is designed for clinicians, school professionals, and other providers seeking an evidence-based approach to childhood anxiety. The workshop will provide an overview of the SPACE model, how to reduce family accommodations and increasing supportive responses. The workshop will also teach participants to assess for accommodations, how to set supportive limits, and how to coach caregivers through behavior change. Real life case examples will be used to emphasize its clinical utility.
About the speaker:
Alyssa Hertz, PsyD
I specialize in evidence-based treatment for anxiety, OCD, and eating disorders across the lifespan. My clinical work is grounded in CBT, ERP, and other empirically supported approaches. I also provide parent-focused intervention through the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) model, helping caregivers respond to anxiety in ways that reduce accommodation and build long-term resilience.
