Ethics Presentation: "Forensic Assessment of Minors"
In this presentation, you will learn about common ethical issues that are of primary importance in forensic contexts. Participants will be presented with guidance on navigating forensic dilemmas involving conflicting roles and responsibilities, while maintaining the highest standards of ethical competence and clinical care. Participants will learn how to anticipate and avoid subpoenas requesting witness testimony. The webinar will also discuss what to expect should you be placed on the stand, along with common traps and pitfalls that occur during witness testimony. Case vignettes will be presented, and participants will be able to apply the forensic decision-making process using realistic scenarios.

Dr. Melissa Mignogna is a clinical forensic psychologist and the mother of 2 boys residing in The Woodlands, Texas. She has spent the last 12 years providing treatment and assessment services to individuals presenting with a variety of psychological difficulties. Dr. Mignogna specializes in working with children and families involved in high-conflict divorce cases. She conducts custody and parenting fitness evaluations and provides reunification therapy, PCIT, and court-ordered treatment services. She often serves as an expert witness in child and family court cases. Dr. Mignogna is the director of forensic services at the Thriving Child Center, and provides in-person services at the River Oaks and The Woodlands clinics as well as virtual services throughout Texas and in all PSYPACT states.
A light breakfast will be served to all registrants from 8:30am - 9am. This is already included in your ticket price. Food will not be available for people that walk in the day of the event. If you want breakfast, make sure you have registered by Wednesday, October 18 (that is when we will place food order). There is no refund, or different price, if you don't eat breakfast.
