About the Speaker:


Nizete Valles, PhD

Dr. Nizete-Ly Valles is a clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families at the Thriving Child Center and PCIT Experts. She is certified in several evidence-based psychotherapies, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. She has a particular interest in the practical application of EBTs on underserved and diverse populations.

She received her clinical psychology doctorate from the University of Iowa. She completed her internship specializing in trauma-informed care for children and adolescents, at the Children’s Institute Inc., in Los Angeles, CA. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship, focusing on severe mental health disorders, at Baylor College of Medicine. She currently works full-time as a private practice psychologist and still conducts training for BCM as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
