About the Speaker:
Jennifer is the Founder of the Petoskey Center and its Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program. She received her MEd from Harvard University and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk University. Jennifer is intensively trained in DBT and completed 3 years of post-graduate training at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies. Jennifer serves as President of Houston Group Psychotherapy Society (HGPS) and is Voluntary Faculty at Baylor College of Medicine.

About the Presentation:
Starting a group can be a daunting process! In this session, we will discuss the various elements that go into starting a group and help therapists get closer to making it actually happen in their own practice. Psychologists interested in learning more about group therapy and starting their own groups will benefit from this presentation.

Attendees will learn:
1. Delineate the type of group you might want to lead
2. Understand the preparatory steps in starting a group
3. Determine the financial structure you want to set for the group

They will have knowledge of the basic foundations necessary for starting a group in private practice.
